From the MacKay Family of Brogaidh's Dairy, we wish a happy New Year to you all! We want to give a special thanks to all those who have helped us build the dairy over last 2 years and for all your kind support. Our milk testing can't come quick enough as we look forward to finally beginning sales to our customers!

Special thanks to Scottish Agricultural College Stornoway for their Farm Visit to Brogaidh's Dairy today. It was a pleasure to meet and share experiences with people from all sectors of the agricultural and crofting industry from all over Lewis and Harris.

Tank full to the brim tonight! Our pasteuriser cream separator, homogeniser and bottle filler are all commissioned and ready to go. Just waiting on the council to test our milk and then we are ready to bring our milk to our customers' doors. All of our cows are home and milking well and with 10 cows to calf in the next 4 to 8 weeks it's a very busy but exciting time for us here at Brogaidh's Dairy.

We now have a 31 strong herd as our Ayrshire cows have arrived to make a great addition to our current Guernsey cows! Here are a few of them settling in well and getting used to the dairy parlour.

With our buildings completed, all of our Gurnsey cows have been moved down to our dairy in Bragar this evening ready for milking to begin!

As the year comes to a close here's a little update on our progress with Brogaidh's Dairy so far; with our first building up and nearing completion and our dairy plant being installed, we are now coming up to the final few stages before the dairy is up and running.

2016 has been a great year for us and we hope 2017 will be even more of a success! So, from us all at Brogaidh's Dairy, we wish you a very happy new year! Slàinte mhath!

A long awaited update - We have been granted funding to start the dairy which means we have the go ahead to get started on our planned building work on our croft in Bragar next year. It will be a busy few months as our little project begins to take shape!!
